Eleven Deplar Farm combines award-winning accommodations with an exotic fishing program guided by local experts.
You’ll target Atlantic salmon, sea-run browns, wild brown trout, and aggressive Arctic char on the European “beat” system, which limits angling pressure and results in extremely productive angling.
Located right outside our front door, The Fljótaá River is your go-to for salmon and char. This medium-sized river has numerous walk-wade pools that are only a few miles from the ocean. Mint bright Atlantic salmon average between 5 and 16 pounds. Long casts are not necessary, and the banks are easy to walk. Many pools are loaded with Arctic char and will take a midge pupa all day long. The Húseyjarkvísl, an hour away, is an incredibly special river. Anglers can fish for large Atlantic salmon as well as resident and sea-run browns. At times, the resident browns will rise to caddis, in the same water that holds Atlantic salmon and sea-run brown trout. The sea-run browns average between 3 and 9 pounds. Eleven also owns cabins on the Hölkná, in the remote northeast of Iceland, which can be accessed exclusively by Eleven guests.
Our expert guides are Iceland’s river and fishing frontrunners. They’ll transport you in 4×4 vehicles equipped with flies, nets, rod mounts, leaders, and nylon. And most importantly, they’ll know which flies and tackle suit the conditions.
Located on the remote Troll Peninsula, Deplar Farm’s 28,000 square feet are enclosed with floor-to-ceiling windows, striking its visitors with unimaginable views of peaks towering over the immaculate Fljót Valley.
